Well, I have been working on designing and launching my new blog for the past few weeks. The time has finally come that I am going to reveal it to the public! So, this will be my last post at this blog address, all future posts will go on my new blog.

It is still somewhat a work in progress, but I want to start posting there now, so I guess that means I should reveal it to the public.

I have added many pages, some are still a little unfinished, but it is pretty fun!

Not much has been going on the last few days. Tyler has been staying at our house while my parents were out of town. It has been fun. (Go see his blog for pictures!)

Mayah has been really into reading

Oh, and I have been wearing my new apron that Becca made me for Christmas. It is so cute. It is reversible. This is one side. The other is on Becca’s Blog. Go check it out and tell her how good she did!

Mayah wore her hat that Aunt Brittany made for her. She looked so cute in it! Here is a picture of it!

We went to Casa Mia for Dinner with Tyler.

I then lost my camera for a short time. It was behind the seat cushion on the couch. I was starting to think I had left it at Casa Mia. I’m so glad we found it!

I am writing this in remembrance of a student of mine, Brian. He was a part of our Spanish Club that was planning a trip to Spain during his Junior year. Throughout that school year, he had really dealt with just not feeling well and being very fatigued and going through many tests trying to figure out what was going on. When it came time for our Spanish trip, his mom was concerned about letting him come with us not knowing what was wrong, having done so many tests. In the end, his mom decided to let him go since there was no reason to not let him go. He felt he could handle the trip and I assured his mom that I would keep close watch on him to make sure he was doing alright while traveling.

Our trip was 11 days long and it covered all of Spring Break, plus a few days. It was amazing! We visited Madrid, Salamanca, and Barcelona, as well as many smaller towns that are known for their beauty. We saw cathedrals, landmarks, museums, and many, many other amazing things. Brian loved it all! The whole time he talked about wanting to go back during college or with his family. He talked in wonder about the beauty of some of the things we saw. He loved the architecture and could repeat back much of what our tour guides had taught us.

When we returned from the trip, Brian had another slew of tests done. Within two weeks of returning from our trip, we found out Brian had cancer. It was a huge shock and was very difficult for our entire staff and student body. I don’t want to go into details of the time that followed, but Brian worked so hard to graduate with his class and to continue to pursue his dreams and goals. As I look back on that time, I remember realizing that God had really planned out that timeline for Brian. He knew that Brian needed to go to Spain with us. God knew that it would be best for Brian to enjoy the trip with us without knowing what the future was going to hold for him. Brian had the trip of a lifetime and for that, I am thankful. I am so blessed to know that God loved Brian enough to give him that trip before all that he had to go through. I am also blessed to have gotten to be a part of that trip with Brian. What a great memory to have with him!

Brian just passed away one year ago from yesterday. I am so thankful that God allowed me to be a part of his life and a part of shaping the life that he knew. He was such a respectful and responsible person who cared about everyone. He loved to make people laugh and he loved to laugh. He was truly a blessing. So, here’s to Brian. Enjoy the pictures from our Spain trip!

Mayah and I got matching shirts for Christmas. They are an advertisement for gDiapers. We were very excited.

We got to go to a game night the other night. We all had a great time. I find great joy in watching other people have a great time with each other. Mayah and I just watched because I wasn’t sure if she’d last through a whole game and I didn’t want to spoil it for anyone. Turned out that I had a great time enjoying everyone else playing the game! Here are a few pictures…

I forgot my camera when we went to Kyle’s parents house, can you believe it? ? So Kyle took pics there, hopefully he’ll post them on his blog. Mayah and Kyle read a Christmas story together. It was a fun day.

Of course, I can’t add every picture, mostly because I took so many, but I wanted to share some pictures of Mayah’s 1st Christmas Eve. It was very fun. My next post will be of Christmas Day.

Mayah got to meet her Uncle Jason (Kyle’s brother) for the first time! He lives in Hawaii and has not been able to get to Washington since before she was born.

Jaedelyn (my neice) walks and runs now, she was pretty busy all of Christmas Eve!

Mayah was very tired by the time we got her jammies on. She had missed a nap and it was bedtime, but we still had a Christmas Eve service to go to. We still got a picture of the cousins together in their jammies. I guess it’s still a memory, even if Mayah was screaming!

Mayah got to meet Kyle’s cousin Andy for the first time yesterday. He is in the service and lives in Oklahoma right now. He was going to come last August, but they ended up denying his leave at the last minute so he couldn’t come home. I think that may have happened one other time too since she was born. SO, this was the first time she met him… it was fun to see him.

This morning, we got up bright and early to go to the jewelry store’s Christmas Eve breakfast. Mayah was in a happy mood, which was a great thing!

This is a time that all the staff and their families have a big breakfast together at a local restaurant. The restaurant closes so it is a private party. We fill the whole place. it is so fun. Here are a few pictures…

After breakfast, we got to just come home so Mayah could get her first nap in. She is in such a great mood so far today! I am so glad! She is working hard on learning to roll from her back to her tummy. She easily does tummy to back, since she has been doing that for quite a while. It is funny how close she gets to rolling the new way, but then decides not to finish it off. You may notice her cute Christmas BabyLegs!

Well, look forward to more fun Christmas posts! We will have many more pictures!

Well, I can’t believe the snow is still here. We had no church yesterday, and with good reason, the roads were thick with snow. I think it would have been terrible to expect people to try to get up the church driveway.

It was fun to be home. I was really motivated at the beginning of the snow coming down and I really cleaned Mayah’s room, put clothes away the grew out of and folded her clean clothes and blankets and got them all put away. I was motivated to do more organizing and cleaning but then that inspiration went away. So, at least I got something done, just not as much as I wanted.

We didn’t do much yesterday, just hung around the house. We ended up going for dinner at my parents, which was nice. We enjoyed getting out of the house and eating dinner with them. I don’t know why I didn’t take any pictures, but it was fun. Mayah was ready for a nap about an hour and a half after we came, so we bundled her back up and headed out. She fell asleep in the car when Kyle drove to Safeway and we waited in the car. We then decided to head to Allison and Joe’s house, they live across the street, but we took the truck there anyways because who wants to walk with a baby in this deep snowy road?

It was fun, we played Monopoly Here and Now, the electronic banking edition. If you haven’t ever played it, you should, it is great to not have to deal with all of the cash!
